Get your new Guru Guides to winning writing

At last I have the inaugural Guru Guide in my hands. Winning Copy Writing: 100 top tips to boost your blogs and pep up you posts. Is the first in my new series of Guru Guides. Winning Novel Writing, with 111 tips, is at the printers and will be the second book in a series which will cover more topics than writing. The third tips booklet will cover Winning CV Writing.

Production of Winning Copy Writing took slightly longer than I expected. This was partly because there was a great deal of final checking and more checks, one the last but most important tip in the book. However, a moment arrives when it is time to let the book go, knowing that you may find errors in it when it comes back from the printer.

Ainslie Chivers, the Print Lady, managed the print and she provided important expertise in making sure that the ready-for-print, from designers Pumpkin, was truly ready for print. Some changes in presentation by Pumpkin were required before printing could take place.

The books arrived when I was in the middle of a networking Writing Group with Fabulous Networking, one of the places where I network which has provided contacts for the suppliers used in this production. We interrupted the networking session to reveal the book and introduce Ainslie. A memorable moment.

One small glitch was that a number of books were damaged in transport because they had not been packed correctly. An expensive mistake by the printers, and disappointing. However, the Print Lady has organised a reprint.

Now my website is ready for e-commerce and, when the process of setting myself as an Amazon seller has been approved, the Kindle and printed editions will become available from another online source.

The next steps are: to formalise and carry out my marketing plan (as outlined in the last issue of this newsletter); and to organise a launch party at a local bookshop in Winchester. For this, I am waiting for Winning Novel Writing and then launch both books together.

If you want to receive a printed copy of Winning Copy Writing at the special price of £5.00 (instead of the usual £7.99), please email us.
