Books, books and more books

Right now the books in my life are beginning to gather momentum. After my recent letter on the Birth of a Book (‘Business is Humans’), I have two more in the waiting room, almost ready to be transferred into the delivery chamber.

“Winning copy writing”, with 100 top tips to improve commercial or business writing, has been passed for press and will go the printer very soon. At the same time a PDF will be loaded onto Amazon Kindle.
I am in the process of setting up a special email account to receive book orders and queries.
The website at bestbusinessenglish.co.uk is now e-commerce ready.

Today I picked up some extremely helpful tips in a marketing talk by Kara Stanford, THE strategic marketer par excellence (www.kmsmarketing.co.uk).

On her advice I will jot down a step-by-step document for the launch of my new products. This document will include things like:

1. The Plan for communications etc; the Purpose (to sell books), how to measure that, the target audience, and the resources.
2. The Scope, with tools, techniques and outlets (LinkedIn and Twitter).
3. The Channels, including the budget, resources and time available.
4. The key Ouputs, including a detailed timetable of activities to attract ‘innovators and early adopters’.

So far so good, but the best is yet to come with the publication, the official launches online and in person in a local bookshop, and the marketing campaign.

Meanwhile, if you need any top tips on any piece of writing which is troubling you, please send me an email.
